on a related note, i try and develop my own frontends for the games i play, and when i do that, i try to make them work on my devices. so i would appreciate if you took the time to make the frontends work for your device (and if there are requests, send in a pr). the frontend for prey is very basic, it only has one checkbox to choose the game, but if you guys like it, its open source and you can modify it to your liking. the frontend for metal slug x is actually a preset in mame4all, and its probably the best preset for that game.

if you feel like the mame4all application is slow, try to adjust the settings in the xconfig file to make mame run faster. it could be that you have lots of games loaded, and one of these games is slowing the program down.

i'm not a regular user of mame. everything is fine there, it's the host i have a problem with. it's been a while since i've had problems with it, but this time i just can't find any options, not even from the main screen.

the 2270 romset also has the xmame 2.0 folder. however, you will only be able to use this folder for xmame 1.3 users. in order to get xmame 1.3 working with this romset, you will need to place your xmame_2.0 folder in the /media/rg350/roms/xmame84 folder, as above.

the 2270 romset also has a.zip folder with multiple.zip files in it, but if you look on line 45 you can see that there is a script for qemu that will let you know what romset you are currently on. while there may be a way to switch rom sets, i have not experimented with this, but for me, its nice to know what romset i am on without having to go through the menus to see what i am on.
